Workshop on Spatial Cognition – 31 July - 2 August, 2013, Kloster Seeon

The Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience Munich has been founded in 2005 with the joint research theme Neuronal Representations of Space-Time. Since then, navigation has been one of the major scientific topics within the BCCN Munich, involving several research projects from auditory localization over analysis of grid cells to path integration in humans. During the last years, several new developments such as the Bernstein Virtual-Reality Facility or the involvement of researchers from robotics research have broadened the methodological approaches and viewpoints of the Center.

Therefore, this workshop aimed to provide an update on the research on spatial cognition done within the BCCN Munich, but also to bring in fresh outside views from colleagues all over Germany. It specifically addressed scientists from neurophysiology and psychophysics to computational neuroscience and robotics interested in spatial cognition and navigation and aimed to foster communication and collaboration within the Bernstein Center Munich and with our guests.
